Welcome to Pete
and Jo's web site! This is not your typical blog. I am too lazy to
update it daily/weekly. We have this divided into two parts. First, a
profile and second, where we are this year. We have a link to
our photos, We add to the photos as we go
along.
ABOUT US:
We
have been married for 43 years and have one married son. We live in a
40' motor home and have been on the road for about 14 years. We both
retired from State Farm Insurance, Pete from claims management, and Jo
from office management for agents.
We winter in Florida, with
Jo's mom, and in the Texas Hill Country near San Antonio. There we have
a one acre lot with 3 RV sites, one for us and two for friends who
come to visit. We call it Casa Las Hadas. It is in a gated sub-division
for RV's and homes. We are also developing a five acre lot on Lake
Amistad, near Del Rio, TX. There are photos of both in the photo
section.
In 2003 we adopted two kittens from the same
litter. So, we now travel with Boo and Cinnamon. There are lots of
photos of them in the photo link.
We are life members of the
Escapees RV Club and usually volunteer for staff positions at Escapades
(Escapees Rally). We are Escapee VCR's (Volunteer Club
Representatives), and as such we attend chapter rallies as representatives
of the club.
THE PLAN:
This year hopefully will be more simple than last and a lot less expensive. We are currently in Spring Branch, TX (home) enjoying our neighbors and working our way through the doctors in order to get our warranty for another year. That takes care of January and February.
In March we hope to be in the Phoenix, AZ area for two Escapee Chapter Rallies and to spend some time with our son and wife who live in Mesa.
Between then and May 20 we have no definite plans. If our Dutch friends get to Nevada this spring we would like to go see them in Pahrump for a while. Then we could go back to Death Valley as a side trip from there.
On our way to our summer job in the Dillon/Frisco, CO area we could return to Hatch, UT where we worked for our site several years ago. If Bandido is still running the Cherokee Golf and RV Resort we could work for him for a week or so. Then we would like to hit Moab, UT for some 4-wheeling in our Jeep.
Our job starts on/about May 20 and goes until the first of September. We will working as campground host in a National Forest campground.
Escapees national rally, Escapade, is in the first part of September and we are scheduled to again host the Exhibitor Building where the vendors set up booths to sell products that appeal to RVers.
In October we need to be back in Baker, WV where our hunting cabin is located for R&R and some maintenance around the place.
December, of course, is with Jo's mom in Lakeland, FL
And in January we are back in Spring Branch to catch up with our place there and pester our doctors once again.
